John S. Pitfield
John began his professional career in 1981 as a proprietary equity options trader on the floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. John has lived in Canada, United States, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore and has financial market experience ranging from relationship management and credit to capital markets and derivatives working with clients including high net worth individuals, multinational corporations and multilateral organizations. He has served as a Director and committee member for clubs, industry associations, private and public companies. He joined Claret in 2018 as a Relationship Manager.
Dean holds a Bachelor of Commerce in finance and economics from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business. He joined Claret’s back office team in 2015 and then moved on to a junior investment analyst - trader role in 2018. Dean has completed CFA Level I and is a CFA Level II candidate.
Maxime holds a Master in Finance from Université de Sherbrooke. He joined the Claret team in 2016 as a junior investment research analyst and acts as associate portfolio manager since 2017. Maxime has completed the CFA Level II exam and is a CFA Level III candidate.
Pierre holds a Bachelor of Commerce in finance and accounting from McGill University, a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation and has completed a Certificate in Derivatives Market Strategies. Pierre started his career and joined Claret in 2000. Since joining Claret, Pierre has been involved in back office operations, fund administration, electronic trading, marketing, quantitative research and portfolio management. Pierre is now focusing on Claret’s strategic development initiatives.
Kathleen joined Claret as corporate controller in July of 2016. She brings with her over 10 years of experience in assurance, accounting and business consulting. Prior to joining Claret Kathleen was a Senior Audit Manager at Collins Barrow Montreal, where she developed expertise in various industries and various areas including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), assurance and taxation. She also played a significant role in training by planning and delivering several technical and practical courses. Kathleen obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2010 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), Accountancy degree from Concordia University.
Monique E.M. Gravel
Monique began her professional career in investments in 1978 at Wood Gundy Ltd as an investment advisor, having graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with concentrations in finance and international relations. In 1986, Monique was appointed branch manager at Wood Gundy and also obtained her CFA designation. She held progressively senior roles with CIBC Wood Gundy until becoming head of the firm in 2009. Monique served on several boards within CIBC, for various associations including as President of the Montreal Society of Financial Analysts, as Chairman of the Board of Governors of CFA Institute, the Accounting Standards Oversight Council of Canada and various charitable organizations. She has received awards from the investment management industry and been nominated several times in the “Top 25” financial personalities in Quebec by Finance et Investissement.
Keith is a CFA charterholder since 2001 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Concordia University. He began his professional career in 1985, working with a large Canadian financial institution for over 18 years. Keith joined Claret in 2004 and is a Senior Analyst and Portfolio Manager.
